State Fair!

We took Penny for the first time to State Fair. She did fairly well... She got a little overheated and we had to declothe her, but she was ok. We got to see lots of animals, and they were all scared of Penny. She would run up to the cage and rattle the bars and they would run away.

Penny also got to meet the Sprecher mascot.  I think it is a blackbird?  I think she thought he was just a big stuffed animal that moved.

One of the fair foods I will not be trying, there isn't many words I can use to describe this, but one comes to mind...SICK!
Penny and Chuck went down the mega slide together.  Chuck says that she was laughing the whole way down.  I wish I could have gone down too but it was like $4 a person!  Rip off!
We of course had to get a cream puff!  You can't go to State Fair in Wisconsin without getting one.  Penny didn't know what to think at first, which is dumbfounding because I squirt whip cream in her mouth often.  But, she later found out that it gave her a sugar high and she got really really slap happy!

Over all a good experience, maybe the last one here in Wisconsin:(  While I am blogging,  the other day there was quite the light show in the sky.  I know my mom and dad will appreciate this, I just wish they were here!  The sky was a brilliant shade of green, purple and pink.  I have a few pictures but it was nothing compared to seeing it in real life.  Soo beautiful!

Then  few seconds later it turned a different color!  I love the strangely beautiful Wisconsin sky.

And since I kind of created my own tradition of a random picture (I didn't do it last time) I have one to share.  This one I think my sister Paige will appreciate.  When I was little I had a big Buddha belly.  Paige would often blow raspberries on it and squeeze it for a good portion of the day.  Can you guess who is following in her mama's footsteps?
Now I have someone to blow raspberries on and squeeze incessantly throughout the day!

Grama and Papa B. came to visit!

This past week my parents came and stayed for a couple of days.  It was sure nice to have them here.  It gave Penny and I a needed break from just hanging out with only each other most of the day.  We just hung out and relaxed.  Penny was quite the ham.  She will be a great performer one day:)

She liked that Papa was at the end of the slide to catch her.  She actually went down the slide without falling backwards!
Penny has this really fake smile that she likes to do.  I call it the "cheeser".  She did it almost every single day to Papa.  There was even one time where she did it to me, and then was looking for Papa and when she got his attention she did it to him.  I know the video is kinda long but wait for it.

The Future Dr. Burtis

Penny wants to be just like her dad when she grows up!

I noticed that on our blog we no longer put pictures of ourselves... Now I know that you want to know what we look like too;)  For Father's Day, I took Chuck and Penny out for a photo shoot and made him a picture of him and Penny.  Here are some pictures from the day.

I also got a few with her.  When we were beginning to leave I heard a rustling in the bushes and found a little frog.  Penny was curious at first and then she touched it and wanted nothing to do with it.  She acted so funny.

This was after she touched it and then I was torturing her by putting it on her.  You can see the concern in her face!
We also had a day at the beach recently and Penny had a lot of fun.  She just wanted to squish the sand as hard as she could in her hand.  She would even grunt she was squishing it so hard.  She is such a spaz!

And last but not least the random angelic picture of Penny actually cuddling and posing for a picture all at once... And she loves to wear Chuck's goggles around the house too:)

Little update..

Well I haven't updated the blog for awhile... But there hasn't been much going on here.  It is getting warmer so Chuck and I got a little kiddie pool for Penny.  She loves to splash in that pool!  For a couple of days in a row it was 90+ so she was in the pool all the time.  It was kinda a let down that after those 90+ days it went down to 57 degrees!  Can you believe that!  Well we also decided to get a little grill.  We have gotten a lot of good use out of it.  It is just a lil' charcoal Smokey Joe.  It is perfect!  We are just looking forward to some grillin', splashin' and relaxin'.

Chuck decided he wanted to make Geppedo a cover for his cage.  So he went to the fabric store and picked this awesome fabric and made it!  Isn't that so impressive!  He didn't use any sort of template or pattern, just free hand.  He also got some other fabric and made a cover for his grill and bench grinder.  I started to call him 'my little seamstress', but he got mad at me cause he thought I was calling him a girl.  So he is 'my tailor'.

Penny thought it was fun to wear the cover as a poncho, silly girl!

Random photo:  Penny ate an oreo and then licked her lips but she could only lick so far.  Thus she has quite an impressive goatee.

Who Ate My Cheese!

Chuck and I were having some cheese for a snack.  Next thing we knew a little cheese monger came and stole my piece of cheese!  I looked around and this is what I found.

When she finally finished she tossed it in the air over her shoulder.  It was very dramatic, but I wouldn't expect anything less coming from this little girl.  This is what it looked like when she was done.  Keep in mind that she only has 2 full teeth on the bottom and only 1 tooth that is 1/4 out on top.

Penny is constantly trying to change the channel on me.  She knows how to work the remote and the side of the tv.  She has now discovered how to change the input to HDMI to get her dvd.  I am constantly disciplining her without much luck because all she does is thinks it is funny, no matter how serious I tell her NO!

She is watching her movie in this picture that she turned on.  Well Chuck pushed play but she did everything else.  Smart little cookie.  In other news Chuck has been recently building projects.  His latest project he built was a work bench.  He did an awesome job! It only took him 1 day!  He did it in like 3 hours!  He is excited to get more of a collection of tools going.

I also had a big change.  I chopped of my locks of hair!  Chuck kept telling me that I would look too young.  He thought I would look 12, so when I got it done and asked him if I looked 12 and he said no, you look at least 18.  Well I guess that is good considering next month I will be 23!

Other big news is that Chuck has been really contemplating what he wants to be when he grows up.  He has recently changed his mind from Urology to Emergency Medicine.  So that means only 3 years residency, and a lot more family time:) yay!
